REQUIREMENTS: You need a high school diploma or equivalent and a 4-year degree or similar qualification in education that allows registration with the South African Council for Educators.
You must be registered with the South African Council for Educators. You should be computer literate. You need a valid driver’s licence. Key skills and qualities include planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. You should be client–focused and have good communication skills. You must understand policy implementation, report writing, managing diversity, training and development, service delivery innovation, creativity, project management, conflict management, and facilitation. You should show integrity, honesty, and knowledge of public service management frameworks. You need good presentation, conceptual, and conflict management skills.
DUTIES: You will be responsible for implementing educational programs for offenders.
You will carry out educational policies at the correctional facility in the management area. You must follow the standards for education services set by government education departments. You will assess educational services and ensure educational and training service level standards are met. You will manage human resources, finances, and assets.
