About the Programme
You will learn to:
– Process and check insurance claims
– Decide who is responsible for a claim
– Work out settlements with claimants
– Make sure all claims follow laws and rules
– Provide good service to customers
– Keep costs under control according to policy rules
The programme includes learning in a classroom and working in the company.
Minimum Requirements
– You need to have a high school diploma (Grade 12)
– No work experience is required
– Preference will be given to people with disabilities as per Employment Equity goals
Key Responsibilities
Claims Administration
– Record new claims
– Make payments for claims
– Check documents in claim files
– Process claims according to the insurance policy
– Update the company’s claim records
– Keep clear notes in the system
– Bring complicated claims to a supervisor for help
Broker & Stakeholder Liaison
– Talk to insurance brokers and agents
– Work out how to settle claims
– Report the progress of claims regularly
Additional Duties
– Do other tasks as needed by management
