Job Description
Purpose: The main goal of this job is to provide great customer service so that both people who come in to the store and the people who deliver or move goods are happy.
This is done by being polite, keeping the area clean and organized, and making sure that all the products customers buy are loaded correctly. This helps the yard run smoothly, so there are no lost items or unhappy customers, which encourages people to come back and buy more, helping the store make more money.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and transfer trucks quickly and correctly
– Make sure stock is stacked and counted properly
– Help with getting stock ready for transfers
– Report any shortages of stock
– Report any broken stock items
– Keep the area clean by sweeping and maintaining good housekeeping
– Help customers with friendly service and knowledge about the products
– Bag stone and sand
– Take part in regular stock checks
– Keep your workspace tidy
– Do any other tasks that your supervisor asks you to do
REQUIREMENTS:
– Have a high school diploma or equivalent
– At least one year of experience in a similar job (preferred)
– Ability to provide excellent customer service
– Ability to count stock accurately
– Ability to work both alone and with others
– Be disciplined and hardworking
– Ability to handle stressful situations
– Ability to communicate well in person
– Be physically fit and have good stamina
