MAIN PURPOSE OF WORK
Provide safe and quality nursing care in accordance with the Scope of Practice.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive environment
Provide accurate and complete records of all nursing interventions.
Participate in creating a learning environment that develops staff competence.
Ensure all stock and equipment used is loaded accurately
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Registered Nurse Certificate
EDUCATION DESIRED: For specialty wards, CPD courses in a specific specialty area
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: 1 year of post-qualification experience prior to placement in a specialized unit
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Basic life support training
Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
Pharmacology
Principles and process of scientific nursing.
Patient assessment skills
Nursing processes and procedures
Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Relevant Nursing Legislation
Nursing care plan skills.
Risk identification
