EWSETA and Prisma Technical Practice Learnership 2026
Prisma Training Solutions, along with the Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority, is now accepting applications for the General Technical Practice Learnership Programme 2026.

This programme is supported by the Rustenburg Local Municipality and is meant for unemployed young people from specific areas in Rustenburg.

Those who are selected will work toward the General Education and Training Certificate: General Technical Practice, which is approved at NQF Level 1.

This opportunity is great for young people who want to develop basic technical skills, learn how to work in a workplace, and gain a nationally recognized qualification.

About the Learnership Programme

The General Technical Practice Learnership is meant to help unemployed youth learn practical skills and basic technical knowledge.

The programme includes both theory and hands-on training, allowing learners to gain useful skills while working toward an official qualification.

For many young people, an NQF Level 1 qualification can be the first step towards future learnerships, apprenticeships, skills training, and entrylevel jobs.

Qualification Learners Will Receive

Successful participants will work toward the following qualification:

General Education and Training Certificate: General Technical Practice

SAQA ID: 49753

NQF Level: 1

This qualification teaches learners about basic workplace rules, technical settings, safety procedures, and problemsolving methods.

It is suitable for those interested in pursuing future opportunities in technical, engineering support, maintenance, utilities, construction, manufacturing, or related fields.

Programme Outcomes

Successful learners will be able to understand and follow safe working practices.
They will be able to choose and use the right tools and equipment.
They will follow instructions and use diagrams under supervision.
They will work to acceptable standards and check the quality of their own work.
They will learn time management, study skills, and selfmanagement.
They will understand basic business principles and workplace practices.
They will also learn problemsolving techniques within a workplace setting.
The programme will also teach learners about workplace procedures, laws, and policies.
Learners may also gain knowledge about technologies used in the energy industry, alternative energy sources, and energy efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have Mathematical Literacy at ABET Level 3.
Applicants must have Communication at ABET Level 3.
Applicants must have a Grade 10 qualification.
Applicants must be between 18 and 34 years old.
Applicants must be unemployed.
Applicants must live in one of the targeted Rustenburg communities.

Sunrise Park
Boitekong
Meriting
